In Anticipation of The Upcoming Release of CARRIE, You Can Listen to The Official Theme Song Here!

Carrie will be running amok across screens nationwide in a few weeks time, and before you head to the theater to watch the rain of blood you can listen to the Carrie's Theme, composed by Marco Beltrami, over at the official site for the film!

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will know that I am a huge fan of horror scores and the massive effect that they can have on a film. From soft whispered strings to large orchestral masterpieces and score can elevate a film from little more than a creepy scrap of folklore to a terrifying piece of nightmare fuel that will stay with you for years. Take a listen here, and as always, let me know what you think in the comments!

The first TV spot for the re-imagining of Brian DePalma's classic film is here. Check it out below.

Starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer and Portia Doubleday: The film is a reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloƫ Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

CARRIE Launches New Site, Investigate the Creepiness of The White House Yourself

MGM and Screen Gems has rolled out yet another viral campaign for the upcoming October release of the Stephen King classic Carrie. In the new site, findcarrie.com, you can go on a virtual tour of Carrie's house with characters from the film, Christine Hargensen/Billy Nolan texting you to warn you if Mrs. White returns.

While the concept is cool, I can't help but start to think that this movie might not be all that I originally thought this was. This is yet another viral marketing campaign (of endless proportions, it seems) that I've seen for this movie, including #whathappenedtocarrie, the Tumblrs, facebook pages, text message campaigns, the "call Carrie" hotline, it's endless. Things like this make me think that they may be overly compensating for the film itself, it comes off as desperate in a way.

At the same time, some of the stuff if is pretty cool and I'll still be in line to see it on October 18th.

What do you think?

[LATE] COMIC-CON 2013 HORROR NEWS - Evil Dead, Carrie and I Spit On Your Grave 2

The biggest weekend of the year for neckbeards, fan boys/girls and every other genre fan in the world just passed us by here in Southern California, none other than the great Comic-Con San Diego. While it's mainly a hub for (the quite obvious) comic world, there's always a place for horror at the amazing convention and we got some news that I am happy to pass along to you.

First off: EVIL DEAD

Fede Alvarez and Jane Levy (Mia) were at Comic-Con and they had a few interviews in which they divulged some tasty new details about the sequel, what it was like filming the first one and what they could possibly have in store for the Evil Dead multi-verse. There was also an Evil Dead Blu-Ray fan party, where fans had a chance to get signed blu-rays and posters from Alvarez and the leading lady. Check out the interviews here:

Bloody-Disgusting.

Shock Till You Drop.

Next up: CARRIE

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend this year so my knowledge of news on this one is rather limited but I do know that a new banner was debuted and you can see it right here:

And then: I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2

The trailer's been released, and it looks, well, interesting? I can't say it looks terrible, it looks like your standard straight-to-DVD release but only time will tell. Check it out below and let me know what you think! I'll be posting more Comic-Con news as I come across it, things are finally slowing down at work and I have more time to be posting.
