HORROR ON TV: Gooble Gobble Gooble Gobble, AMERICAN HORROR STORY Names Fourth Season - FREAKSHOW

Last week it was let loose that the fourth season of the anthology based American Horror Story would take place at, somewhat of a, carnival and would be set in the 1950's. Well, yesterday Ryan Murphy made it official with the announcement of the title: American Horror Story: Freak Show

Murphy also divulged a few plot points, not much (in true AHS fashion) but enough to get fans salivating. Set in Florida in 1950, Jessica Lange will return as a German expatriate as the manager of the last standing freak show in the US. AHS regulars Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Frances Conroy as well as season 3 (Coven) players Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett will comprise her merry group of freaks that Lange has rescued. The season will follow their exploits as they "do anything to keep their business around".

There is no reason in denying that I did not watch this past season. It help little to no appeal to me, as it was quite obviously tailored toward the female demographic. While there's nothing wrong with that, I simply prefer the grimy approach that season two's Asylum delivered. I'm hoping that this may be the format of the show, as season one was quite tailored for the ladies, perhaps the boys will get some nasty violence in even numbered seasons?

I'll be keeping you posted as more news trickles down the line, and as I'm sure you can already pre-meditate, American Horror Story: Freak Show will return in time for the Halloween season.

HORROR ON TV - AMERICAN HORROR STORY Season 4 Theme Is Confirmed!

American Horror Story can largely be credited as one of the leading forces in bringing about this horror tv show revolution that we're currently in the middle of. The first season created waves that were cemented by the second season and now the series is about to enter it's fourth.

I'll openly admit that I didn't watch season three. It held literally nothing of interest for me, and seemed like it was more tailored for the female demographic. I will eventually settle in and give it a go, but that's what makes American Horror Story's format so great. It's an anthology; you don't have to watch every season. While some people loved Murder House, others were bigger fans of Asylum (myself included), still others were fans of Coven.

Well, get prepared for season four's offering: American Horror Story: Carnival. Whether or not that will be the title, it has officially been confirmed (via Nerdist Writers Panel podcast) that season four will take place at a carnival in the 1950's. The only other tidbit of information is that Jessica Lange will once again star, this time with a German accent.

So what do you think? Did you watch Coven? Which was your favorite season? Sound off below!

HORROR ON TV - AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN Invites 10 Fans to Experience the Coven

So, it's almost impossible to keep up with the never ending slew of teasers, posters, post cards, trailers and what not that Ryan Murpy and the American Horror Story team push out, so I apologize if I've slacked on bringing you AHS news, but THIS is really cool!

Apparently the AHS team brought 10 fans out to New Orleans, to introduce them to the Coven and give them the ultimate fan experience. There's little known about it other than that, but check out the first video below! It looks like an awesome experience, and I'm jealous, if anything because it looks like they got a free trip to New Orleans out of the deal!

HORROR ON TV - Check Out The Opening Credits for AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN

I've never seen the intro credits for AHS roll out before the season premiered, so either I've been out of the loop on this in previous years or this is brand new this year! Either way, check out the opening credits for American Horror Story: Coven below.

Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.

Catch the premiere on October 9th, with returning cast Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga and more.

HORROR ON TV: AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM's Living, Breathing Voodoo Doll

I was excited last week when we saw the first ever AHS trailer that actually featured the cast, I was hoping for more of that. This week, we're back to the ultra-ambiguous trailers that show nothing other than 8 seconds of creepy imagery. That's cool too though. Feast your eyes on the latest AHS: Coven teaser below!

HORROR ON TV: New Teaser for AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN Finally Stars The Cast

I know I've been MIA the past few days, I apologize. I got back from a Vegas wedding on Sunday and have been kind of out of it since then.

There's a brand new teaser out for AHS: Coven and it's pretty cool for a number of reasons. One, it's longer than 18 seconds; two, it's the first teaser for AHS ever to show the cast. Dig on it below!

"Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. This year's cast includes: Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sibide, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and more.

HORROR ON TV - New "Coffin" Promo for AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN

The news certainly comes in waves with this show. The newest teaser has been released for AHS: Coven, and I have to say, the more that comes out to promote the latest season the less excited I get. While I loved the second season, the first season left a lot to be desired, and I felt that a huge reason for that was due to the angst filled romance between Tate and Violet. The first season felt heavily centered on the female demographic, and I can't help but feel that Coven will be going in the same direction. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I simply feel that the Romeo and Juliet approach often gets in the way of the horror and distracts the viewer, i.e. True Blood.

Either way, give it a peep below.

HORROR ON TV - More Casting News from AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN

The hit TV show American Horror Story has made it's name not only for it's quirky premise, but for it's stock cast of amazing actors that have made up the first two seasons. While there have been a few new additions to this years line-up, a brand new, well, new-comer has come been ushered into the fold this year.

Alexander Dreymon will be playing the "handsome young man" who moves in next door to the Academy. No other word on his role, other than that he's received a "major recurring role", according to Deadline.

AHS: Coven premieres October 9th. See a picture of the "handsome young man" below.

HORROR ON TV: Tons of News Rolls Out Of AMERICAN HORROR STORY Camp

The good news keeps on rolling in this week and I've got a bit of catching up to do! Earlier this week, the fourth teaser was released (you can check it out below) and yesterday the season premiere date AND the official story arc were released.

"Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way."

As far as the cast goes, Ryan Murphy is keeping up the recurring theme of using his favies, however this year it's unfortunately looking like Zachary Quinto will not be joining the witchhunt. This is sad news, especially considering what an amazing job he did with last year's Bloody Face. Some new additions to the ensemble include Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sibide and Kathy Bates.

HORROR ON TV - Voodoo Creepiness Invades Latest AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN Teaser

American Horror Story: Coven is apparently following the same formula they set last year, by releasing small 20 second long teasers (that really tell you nothing about the plot itself) to advertise the release of it's third season this October. Last week we saw women fusing with walls, this week we see a living voodoo doll. Check it out below!

"American Horror Story’s third season will center on a coven of witches that relocated from Salem, Massachusetts to New Orleans, Louisiana before The Salem Witch Trials. The themes include witches, witch hunts, and witchcraft vs voodoo. Kathy Bates will portray infamous serial killer Delphine LaLaurie who, at the start, is Fiona’s (Jessica Lange) best friend, but later becomes her worst enemy.” Frances Conroy is set to play Ruth, Fiona’s 'rival from high school times.' This season will be set in modern day and the 1830s.”

HORROR ON TV - First Teaser for AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN Has Been Released!

It's here! The first teaser for American Horror Story: Coven. In true AHS fashion, it doesn't show much, but still, there's more than meets the eye. Set to the famous blues tune "The House of the Rising Sun" (made famous by The Animals) and pays tribute to Blaubart, the dance-theater piece by Pina Bausch. What does it mean and how does it tie into this new season of AHS? I don't know, but I'm interested to find out. Check out the trailer and sound off in the comments!

HORROR ON TV: Poster Released for "American Horror Story: Coven"

The hit television series American Horror Story has made an amazingly strong impact over the past two years. I fell in love with the concept when I first heard it, loved the first of the first season, hated the second half, but my faith was renewed with American Horror Story: Asylum, the second season.

For those that do not know, American Horror Story is constructed in a peculiar format. Each season is a whole new story, in a whole new place, with whole new characters BUT with the same cast (at least most of it anyway).

Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, among others will be returning to this season in American Horror Story: Coven with new comer Kathy Bates and first season veteran Taissa Farmiga. I don’t think it needs any explanation, but just in case, this season will be centered around witchcraft. Without any further ado, here’s the poster for the new season and I am all about it.
