I thought it was pretty fun trying to see if I knew all 163
horror movies. Some of them may not fall precisely within the category
of horror but they all fit the vibe. Pretty rad song accompanies it too.

INDIE SURPRISE: Bootleg Posters from Ghana
In
Ghana, many posters for Hollywood films can’t be imported (due to
various laws, I imagine) so various artists will take it upon themselves
to pain bootleg posters of what their vision of the films. The end
result leaves with some wonderful gems, check ‘em out after the break:

Lovecraft's Picks for Tribeca 2013
Tribeca 2013 started yesterday (and runs until the
28th), and for those of you who do not know, the Tribeca Film Festival
was co-founded by Robert DeNiro in response to the attacks on NYC on
September 11th, to aid the recovery of the TriBeCa
neighborhood in Lower Manhattan. That’s all fine and dandy, what I
really care about is the tasty selection of horror films that are being
screened, some of which I have been very excited about for quite a
while. There are some classics, and of course, there are some brand new
ones and I’m going to share my list of movies that you should be on the
look-out for.
FUN FIND: Twin Peaks Pole Dancing
I am a huge, and I mean crazy-obssessed-in-love-with-huge, fan of Twin Peaks,
which most definitely means that at some point in the near future I
will be reviewing the series. I’m contemplating doing an
episode-by-episode review, as I am about to rewatch the entire series
with a friend who has never seen it, but only time will tell. Until
then, you will most likely be inundated by a variety of TP themed posts.
I discovered a video on Reddit today of an amazing pole-dancer from London, doing a totally SFW routine to “Falling” the theme of Twin Peaks. You can take a peek below:

New Review Coming Soon
The House of the Devil - Ti West (2009)
This past weekend some good friends went
out of town and I spent the past couple days at their place, hanging
with their dog and taking it easy in their big, gorgeous house. One of
the perks of this house is the rather large high definition TV that’s
equipped with a Netflix/Amazon capable DVD player that allows me to feed
my horror hunger in sweet, sweet surround sound.
One that’s been on my list for a while has been Ti West’s The House of the Devil.
I’ve lingered with my finger over this one many a-time, but have always
backed out thinking that it looked stupid (I know, I know, you
shouldn’t judge a book by its cover), but this time I decided to give it
a go. Shot in the same vein as an 80’s supernatural horror film, this
one kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, delivering powerful
suspenseful scares, great cinematography and even a pretty solid leading
lady.

I cannot remember the last time I have been so excited about
the release of a horror movie. Marking the days off the calendar,
watching the trailers and clips incessantly, listening to the soundtrack
on a daily basis, I was hooked on this movie before it even came out.
Part of me was worried that I was building it up too much, “You’re gonna
ruin it for yourself”, I kept on thinking, but did I? Absolutely not.
As the inaugural review for this blog, I decided to kick it off with
possibly the ballsiest remake in the history of the horror industry,
Fede Alvarez’s take on Evil Dead.
